Humans often want to be glorified and exalted but God wants us to be humble. Some people treat themselves as gods. They believe that since they are their own god they should not have to experience pain or hard times. But even Jesus, who claimed to be the Son of God experienced pain and suffering when He was on earth. Because He was humble and we should be as well. God the creator of the trillions of galaxies, the Man who invented time, space and motion-became a baby. But He did more than just become a baby. He also was a perfect baby. And He grew up to become a perfet Man. He befriended the outcast of society-how is that for humility.
He also fulfilled all the biblical prophecies predicting his coming and death. Please visit http://www.answering-islam.org/Walid/09christ_prophecies.htm for some examples of fulfilled prophesy of Christ. He allowed Himself to be spit on, beaten, punched, whipped, and stabbed and eventually killed. But He arose from the grave 3 days later, thus defeating the power of death. He paid the price for sin which is death. He did this so that whoever believes in His name shall not die but have everlasting life. The Creator of the Universe allowed Himself to be tortured and killed so that all people may live in heaven with Him for eternity. What a humble man.
Human beings should realize that hard times and physical pain is a part of life. We should not cower in fear over hard times, but embrace hard times. If you can take the hit and keep moving forward than you will grow to be a stronger person. As for wanting to avoid pain, that is fine. No one should want to feel pain. But pain is apart of this world because of because human's sin. If you need help overcoming the hardships of life then trust in Jesus as your saviour. There is a spiritual war between good and evil that is battling for your soal. Ephesians6:10-12 describes the spiritual war: "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
To trust Jesus as your savior, just pray a prayer like this: Jesus I am a sinner. I believe you died and rose again to save me from the power of sin which is death. I accept your gift of everlasting life. I love you and thank you for what you have done for me.

Hollywood's Secret
I was watching a show on TBN which featured several prominent Christian conservative comedians. One of the comedians (I can't remember which one) made a good point about Hollywood. He said that Hollywood makes light of morally repugnant ideologies. They joke about repulsive behaviors so that people will not take these issues seriously. If you learn to laugh at immoral behavior, you begin to down play it and the behavior does not appear to be offensive any more.
He continued by saying that Christian conservatives comedians can influence the audience in a positive way because the audience has let their guard down. Instead of trivializing and making jokes about immoral conduct, conservative comedians can use humor to show why certain actions are wrong, and show the need for a moral core.
The point is this, people have to have a set of morals that they adhere to even if you are not a Christian. To live in a free country, people must learn to control themselves. If people feel they can do anything they want, then you have a nation that is a slave to their evil passions.
However, I believe that the only way that one's heart will truly be changed is to realize that one has a problem with wanting to do evil. And this person must realize that if they want to go to heaven, they must repent of their transgressions and realize their need for a higher power. I believe the only One who can permanently save us from our own evil hearts is a Man who died to save the world from their own wicked wants. His name is Jesus. No other faith offers a guarantee of everlasting life in heaven.
Now many of you reading might not believe this. You may want to believe Christianity is silly or foolish because you do not really know what it is all about. So all I ask is that you learn more about Christianity by visiting these web sites:

After or before you have done that, simply pray to Jesus and ask Him if He is real, and that He would speak to your heart. And then decide if you want to repent of your sins, and accept His gift of everlasting life.

What must be done to save America
I believe the major problems in America can be contributed to a lack of moral compass. I believe the best moral compass is the Bible. So Bible-believing Christians must be an example of people who want and do pursue righteousness. After they are prove themselves as followers of the Bible, then perhaps non-Christians will be more willing to follow the moral code, and more importantly be willing to learn about the Gospel of Christ. But for Christians to make a bigger difference in America, they must stop/start doing the following:
• Obey the Ten-Commandments, and take sin seriously. Many Christians seem to do whatever they want during the week, and then attend church. They care more about materialism and entertainment then living God-honoring lives.
• Act loving. There are many Christians out there who show anger and are overly judgmental towards almost everyone, especially non-Christians.
• Believe the Bible is the ultimate authority of God. To stand up for something, you must believe without a doubt that what you are standing up for is true. No one will believe what you say, if you do not really believe what you say.
• Be unashamed of the Gospel.(which comes from believing the Bible is the ultimate authority.) If more Christians would engage the culture and promote their beliefs with enthusiasm and confidence, then more people would listen.
• Form a united body of Christ. Different denominations usualy stay separate from each other because of minor theological differences. Different denominations should get over these differences and instead stand together to spread the saving faith of Jesus Christ.
I hope these suggestions will help Christians have a bigger impact on America.

Glorifying God?
Some Christians want to become 'godly' for the wrong reasons. They thoroughly engage themselves in the Christian culture. But the reason they do this is to give the false impression/personal belief that they are mature Christians who are growing rapidly in the faith.
But it is possible to do such Christian acts as Bible studies, involvement in various church ministries, and speaking spiritual truths and not be growing spiritually. If you are doing these things for other Christians to think highly of you, you are not deepening your walk with Christ. You are in fact backsliding.
To grow in Christ, you must seek to truly glorify God by making Him look bigger, and you look smaller. But so often we do good works by using our talents and getting ourselves engrossed in the Christian culture for the wrong reasons. So let us exam our hearts and ask why we do the Christian things we do. Let us truly grow in Christ by seeking to glorify God and not ourselves.
